Notice to Colorado Residents

This Colorado Privacy Notice supplements our Privacy Policy and provides additional information required by the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), effective July 1, 2023, as amended with updates effective in 2025.

Your Colorado Privacy Rights

As a Colorado resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal data under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA):

Right to Access

You can request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data and obtain access to that data.

Right to Correction

You can request that we correct inaccurate personal data we maintain about you.

Right to Deletion

You can request deletion of personal data you have provided to us or that we have collected about you.

Right to Data Portability

You can obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable and readily usable format that allows you to transmit it to another entity.

Right to Opt Out

You can opt out of the processing of your personal data for: (1) targeted advertising, (2) the sale of personal data, or (3) profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CPA rights.

Sensitive Data

Under the CPA, certain categories of personal data are considered "sensitive data" and require your consent before processing:

  • Racial or ethnic origin
  • Religious beliefs
  • Mental or physical health diagnosis
  • Sexual orientation
  • Citizenship or immigration status
  • Genetic or biometric data used for identification
  • Personal data from a known child (under 13)
  • Precise geolocation data

We obtain consent before processing any sensitive data. For tax preparation services, we may need to process Social Security Numbers, which we handle with appropriate security measures and only for the purposes of providing our services.

Children's Privacy (Minors Under 18)

The Colorado Privacy Act provides enhanced protections for minors:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent
  • For minors aged 13-17, we require parental or guardian consent before processing their personal data
  • We do not use system design features that would significantly increase minors' use of our services
  • We limit data retention periods for minors' data

Biometric Data Notice

Effective July 1, 2025, Colorado law requires specific notice and consent for biometric data collection:

  • We do not collect biometric identifiers such as fingerprints, voiceprints, retina or iris scans, facial geometry, or facial templates
  • Our services do not require biometric authentication
  • If we ever implement biometric data collection in the future, we will provide clear notice and obtain your explicit consent before collection

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Data

Home Time Business Services LLC does not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not engage in the sale of personal data as defined under the Colorado Privacy Act.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of your Colorado privacy rights, you may:

Response Timeline

  • We will respond to your request within 45 days
  • We may extend this period by an additional 45 days if reasonably necessary
  • We will verify your identity before processing your request
  • If we cannot fulfill your request, we will explain why

Right to Appeal

If we decline to take action on your request, you have the right to appeal our decision. To appeal, contact us at kim@hometimebusinessservices.com with "Colorado Privacy Appeal" in the subject line within 45 days of receiving our response.

We will respond to your appeal within 45 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General at coag.gov/file-complaint.

Universal Opt-Out Mechanisms

We honor universal opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or device sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as a valid opt-out request for the sale of personal data and targeted advertising.
